Swapping Time

So I decided to join a card swap over at SCS. It a Pink and Brown Birthday Swap. Yes you heard right....Birthday Swap. I totally skipped over that when I read and joined. I mailed my cards out before I even noticed. The girls over there have been really great about it. I am such a flake!!

I used the D'Vine Swirl Cuttlebug Folder, Circle Nesties, and two stamp sets. The swirlies and the butterfly are Stampendous. The hello is Hero Arts. I think I really like this card. It is simple, yet cute. What do you think?

Stamp Club Card

My mom and I belong to this dinner stamp club in St. Charles where we meet once a month, eat dinner, learn a technique, and exchange cards using the previous month's technique. Well my mom, being the over-achiever that she is, finished her card last night.

The technique was a simple one....just a few drops of acrylic paint which you then pull over the paper with a credit card or something like it.
She used red and green Metallic Acrylic Paint from Folk Art. Once it dried (which was really fast), she stamped the Holly Swirls in Noir Palette Ink. She also used red stickled on the holly berries.
She stamped the Joy in Moulin Rouge Palette Ink and after it dried, she covered the panel with versamark ink DTP. She the sprinkled Kaleidoscope Embossing Powder and heat set it. It came out so sparkly!
TAC Stamps: Holly Swirls, Joy of Christmas
Paper: Bazzil Bling Red and Green

Diamond Island Projects

Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to go to Diamond Island in Michigan and spend time with some Illinois and Ohio Angels. We had a blast! (I hope I didn't get voted off the island? LOL!) Anyhoo, we all brought projects with us and I believe we will be showing them off every Sunday. I, on the other hand, am always a day late and a dollar short.

This was Teri's awesome project. It was a 6x6 Scrapbook purse. I got to use one of my favorite paper collections, Penelope, on this project. It is really awesome in person as it has been handstitched with a brown marker (by Teri, I must add. I am way too lazy!) There are two pockets with hidden circles for pictures or journaling.
TAC Stamps used: Forever Family, Life Thoughts
Paper: Penelope SWIC

Swap Card

I made this card for a blue and brown swap I joined at TAC444. I was really excited about this card because everything but the sentiment comes from one stamp set. I even used Baby Blue Opaque Stazon (which I don't think I have used since I bought it a year ago). Anyway, this card was a CASE from the new Take Ten magazine. I just used my own stamps. I know this was cheating but I just fell in love with this card. I wish I could remember the gals name....she had a whole article close to the back if that helps anyone. It showed how to use white pigment ink and color over with colored pencils once it was dry. Great article! As soon as I get over to my mom's I will update with the name of the person and article.

Supplies:

TAC Butterbees and More
TAC Ordinary Greetings
Baby Blue Opaque Stazon
Blue and Brown Cardstocks

Check out my new laptop skin

OMG!!! I am too excited!!! Tell me that is not THE cutest thing you have ever seen?
I was playing around in my favorite store on earth - EBAY- and I found a customizable laptop skin. I figured since I usually beat the heck out of my laptop, it was a good purchase. My mom doesn't agree. LOL!!! But then again, she knows I'm nuts! Dang, I love anything monkey.

Juliette Squares

So I was playing around and looking for something to do when I found this challenge on SCS. I thought it would be easy. It probably is...but not for me.

I must have torn this card apart 3 times before I ended up with this. The card is a 4 1/4 inch square. The individual squares are 1 inch matted with a 1 1/8 inch square. The middle square is 2 1/8 matted with a 2 1/4 square. I used Marvy Flower Punches and stickles for the centers. The Be Mine sentiment is popped up with a pop dot. The decorated square is embossed with clear EP.

I am not sure how I feel about this card yet. It just looks like it needs something. I don't know. Maybe it will grow on me. LOL!!!

Supplies used:

TAC Juliette SWIC and Cardstock
TAC Forever Stamp Set
Palette Burnt Umber, Bordeaux
Crystal Stickles
Marvy Punches

I just found this blog!!!

I found this blog tonight and all I can say is this is one talented lady. She is offering some awesome blog candy. Check her blog out. I know you'll like it!!

PIF Blog Candy Winner & new Gift Card Holder

OK, so I asked my son to help pick 2 numbers between 1 and 15. After a WHOLE LOT of discussion about why I was asking....(he's eight :o) he decided that I shouldn't choose.

"Mom, you have so much stuff you could share, why not give everyone a prize?"

I asked him what I did to deserve such a sweet boy and he responded,

"I just want to get rid of some of this stuff so we can get a cat!"

Anyone want an eight year old? He's free!!!! Please email me your names and addresses and I will get packages out to each and every one of you that took time out of your day to visit my blog! Thank you so much!!!

I was looking through all of the people who left messages last night and found ALOT of awesome projects. I will try to post my take on one each day.

The first was this really cool gift card holder. I found it at Loreen's Scrap Space and she did a great job with it. I believe she found it here where this gal did an AWESOME you tube video. So I was so excited that as soon as I got home today, I had to make one...or two. LOL!!! Here is my take...... I used stamps and paper from TAC.

Pay it Forward Blog Candy

I recently (I use recently really loosely) won blog candy from a blog and I never followed up with my PIF. What a retard I am!! I believe the blog was Ladybug Designs but I can't remember now. Dang it!

Anyhoo, please leave me a message by 6pm CST tomorrow evening and I will choose two names to receive an awesome package from me. These will include some retired TAC stamps, and various goodies. I promise you wont be disappointed!! The only thing I ask that you do is to pay it forward to someone else. Thanks for playing!!

I am a ROTTEN Blogger!

Oh my goodness....if this were a child, I would be arrested for neglect. Life has totally gotten in the way of everything! But I think I am re-energized! :)

I just got back from the TAC Seminar 2008 and all I can say is WOW! I am so excited! Our Inspiration Books keep getting better and better. I love all of the new sets! I don't think I can find one that I could look over. We had so much fun! I love seeing all of the angels that you do not get to see on a regular basis. The trading was phenomenal! ALL of the trades I got were top notch! Keep up the good work angels!!

S.A.S.S.Y.s had a real presence at seminar this year. I think our final number of attendees was 17. I had a blast. Before, I say anymore, I have a little story to tell you...

My mom and I were supposed to go to Leadership in San Antonio in January, but at the last minute, unforeseen circumstances kept us in Chicago. We were sad but we knew that my stamp Mom and Sisters would bring back lots of samples and info. At the team meeting following the event, I was presented with Neon, a neon green monkey and a scrapbook. Turns out, my stamp Mom and Sisters saw this monkey and decided to have me there in presence. Holy Cow!!! Talk about awesome!!! They took pictures of Neon doing everything I would have done on the trip (well there was a picture of her sitting on Pat's head. :) If I would have attempted this, Pat would no longer be with us!! LOL!!!) Anyhoo, talk about love!! So I decided to take Neon with us to Seminar and let everyone see her and the scrapbook the S.A.S.S.Y.s had made me.

OK, so now that you know the foundation, you might understand the rest of the story. So Neon had a team shirt, a team bracelet, and her adopted mother, Lezli, even gave her wings. I don't think I could have asked for a better team!! Everyone is so different, it is great! I stayed up late, talked, (ok, so when do I shut up?), laughed, and really enjoyed getting away from reality.

Now that I am home, I really intend to do things differently. I have made the decision that I either need to make this happen, or I need to give up. I have gotta get off my butt!!

OK.....was this post long enough for one night? I will leave you with a few pictures from Just Dream 2008.

I think Lori was yelling at me...LOL!!

Linda, Karen, & Neon. Aren't they cute?

My Mom and Char.....they are cute too!!!

It's Here!

The NEW Spring/Summer 2008 Catalog is here and I must say, IT IS AWESOME! I love everything about it! There are a ton of new stamps and papers! My wish list is already a mile long. It is amazing that this company just keeps getting better and better!

We are now selling the Bind-it-All, Scor-Pal, and Scallop Punches. We have new 6x9 albums, paper packs, matchbook kits, and more that I cannot wait to check out!! I am way too excited.

Happy New Year!

What is my New Year's Resolution? Keeping my blog up to date is one of them. Geez, I have really abandoned ship on this one. This past year has probably ranked one of the most challenging. I believe it can't get any worse. LOL!
